how do you guys break into 600 hp on #2 only, i didnt even break into the 500s at bully dog and at 479. 9 the rail pressure was gone, but still had 11 psi at the inlet of the cp3... the guys with the sled pullers made more power on the dyno, then the guys with twins, i wonder if i need a new cp3, injectors, and a cam, but i dont see any power gains from injectors if the rail pressure is already gone?, also couldnt get the twins to light at bully dog and only pulled 179ft, but in utah they lit as soon as i launched and pulled a 327ft :-{}

Extra pressure is really taxing on the CP3 and causes the rail pressure to drop sooner. I have best luck with long duration and just a little pressure. My best dyno was 524 but I'm out of air at that, working on cureing that problem currently.

ran it with the drb-3 and even with the ramifier off, i can only run 4-3 on the tst for a short time and the rail pressure still drops to 14000, on 9-9 its down to 9000 and the same on 7-7, also i noticed how much faster the inlet fuel pressure falls off with the ramifier on, but still holding 11psi at wot, 25psi at low idle

I'm no expert but it sound like your pressure relief valve needs replacing. I had mine doing pretty much the same thing, the computer was calling for 23,000 and the valve wasn't allowing anything more than 14,000 max. Caused a lot of smoke but after a certain rpm the power just dropped off quite drastically. Changed the valve and have awesome power now!

replaced the rail relief with a new one from cummins 420. 00 or so, but didnt seem to make a difference

Did you pull at the Tooele pull a couple of weeks ago?

I thought I saw your truck come in on a flatbed.

Justin

yes i was at that pull, but had to pull in the exhibition cause i was late to the registration, was your truck the white one that pulled in front of me, dont get mad but jacks powerstroke is bad, once he got those 37'' dirt grips spinning he was outa the fair grounds, he also took the under 8000 mod diesel sled pull in the dog days pull, by a lot... . i was bouncing off the rev limiter by 60ft, i pulled in too low of a gear cause my clutch wont take it, its a single disk ceramatallic, if that was your truck, its a bad one too... Oo.

Yes, Jacks Ferd is one bad truck... Detroits front and rear, blocked rear suspension. 7985 on the scale

I am open front limited rear, with stock michelins :D I weighed in at 7560 with 400 lbs of weight hanging on the front.

He pulled 352 and I pulled 348. Not too bad for my second pull ever!?

My buddies truck SMOKED his SB at that pull. I built him a huge set of injectors and he tried to pull in 4th 4low. He pulled in a previous pull in 3rd and did ok.

How do your twins like the high utah altitude?

they seem to do ok, they are laggy with the 40-16, if i run the tst only, but they spool pretty fast if i run the ts on max and tst on 9x9, but quickly lose rail pressure, they lit pretty fast in utah and hit 64psi but then backed down into the 40s when the truck hit the rev limiter, i need a clutch that hooks so i can do the 4th gear 4-low launch with the 37'' tires, i am also trying to fab up some traction bars and a way to block the rear susp solid, i have a weight bar for the front but i dont really need i right now with the extra slick clutch, maybe we can meet up sometime at another pull or when i go to salt lake :D

Why are you running the TST on 9?

i normally dont run level 9, i lose rail pressure after 3-3 with the twins program, the truck launches harder with the higher settings, but then just falls on its face

I dont have any power problems running the same amount of power/boost down the track with my setup.

49psi all the way down the track 3200rpm steady as she goes.

Enough power to win again in the street class 304'.

i live at 5800ft elevation, i probably should run an hx-35-14 on the top but i will sacrafice a little spoolup for lower egt, is your truck still fueling at 3200 rpm, which tst box do you have?

I see you guys talking about the pressure in the rail and I was wondering how you can get it? Do you guys have special guages?

Id like to know because my dad has an 03 an wants to figure out the pressure.

Thanks

a guy from industrial injection was at the bully dog days of summer and my truck was running like crap, so he hooked a drb-3 chrysler scan tool to it, and found out my rail pressure was gpoing away real fast, also someone builds a guage that reads rail pressure, but dont know who has it... ;)

I remeber SPA making one. It was in the TDR classifieds a few months ago.
