I need Your Help

900 mhz VS. 2.4 ghz..........

Any maverick hot shotpilots out there that could borrow a transport for about 24 hours?

Would like to get me and my truck to Tulare, California, from Pennsylvania, thump some west coast tail at the pulling track, then fly home again.

Even one way would be fine, I can drive it home. :D

There will be a case of beer in it for you... .....

There's a couple of dozen of them parked out in the desert around here. No one seems to ever use them. A bunch of C-141's too.

We have 1/2 a dozen or so c-130's here. They belong to the Wyo Air National Guard. They just came back from the Persian gulf a while back picking up and dropping off who knows what. I'm sure the pilots/crew are tired and not in the mood, but maybe they wouldn't miss a plane for a day or so. :D

No problem

The $ we're spending who is going to notice a few extra hours? Its all just one deep pocket with apparently no bottom. Come on see what you can do to hook him up a ride.

Ah yes that boneyard in AZ...

I seen a special on it a week ago or so while I was laying in the motel due to the mighty N-14's failure in my work truck and Cummins not stocking the part we needed and no loaner in the yard out there. So while I was watching TV in the room paid for by Cummins, getting paid hourly for the downtime,a show came on about that storage field off Pinal Park Road. Seems that is one of the lowest humidity points in the country and thats the reason for the storage there. Many big airline companies store their jets not in use along with some military stuff. BUT,as the reported noted,do not try to tour it or trespass on the grounds trying to get a looky see. You just might end up wearing some new shiny bracelets and have a new home for a while... ... P. S. -Hey Sleddy,Lets see here,my NHRA license requires a FAA Type 3 physical ,and since they all told me way back then when I asked why it was more stringent than my D. O. T. physical for the truck if you want to fly then you need a pilots license & physical,I'll fly you if you get the plane lined up. Just bring a crash suit, helmet and a way to remove the seat cushions from your jeans. Remember,I seen the way that you dug your fingers into the dash of your truck when I drove it last year, this might be a little more scary..... :D :D

Hammer: The bone yard you are refering to is on the west side of town and, although I have never been there, I think it is mostly air transport aircraft. The large military bone yard is at Davis Monthan AFB in central Tucson. Several square miles of stuff. No B-52s as they were all distroyed as part of SALT II (I think that's the correct term). They do offer tours of DM AFB from the Pima Air Museum. I'd like to do the tour sometime. We also have the Titin II missle silo museum here too. It's pretty neat.

yea, the rocket silo is a nice little tour. You feel very safe when you are down there, actually it feels like a safe, looks like a safe, smels like a safe. I be darned, it is a safe.

I gave the folks at the missle silo my name and phone number to be called when they have their next full tour where they take you to the bottom of the hole. I guess they do this about twice a year on kind of a reservation basis.

My little brother is lead project engineer for the navy on the C-130's "propulsion".

I can see if he can put a dealer tag on it for the weekend. I dont think they'll notice... do you?

I know there is a military aircraft "Bone Yard" near Kingman, AZ as well. I bought a tractor out there once, it was about 12 yrs, old, no rust!
