wheres the best place to get a inexpensive code reader. after my last vp44 thought it might be a good idea to keep one of these in the truck.
 
What year is your truck? I think 2000's and I know 2001 and up cen be read without a reader by cycling the igniTon key from off to on-off-on-off-0n without bumping the starter, and read the odometer. All codes will scroll by and end with DONE.
 
I got one at NAPA for 50 or 60 bucks. It is a AutoXray unit. Reads and resets codes, and will turn off MIL.
