i paosted the other day with a fuel leak and then the clutch started slipping. with almost 16000 miles on the truck i am on my on. what are is a good clutch for a truck running around 450 hp. i do alot of rockcrawling so the first one that came to mind was a centerforce dual friction. all suggestions are welcome. thanks dan a. k. a. (schicken bone)

A South Bend Clutch "FE" or Dual Disc from SBC, Haisley Machine or Enterprise Engine (Mitchell).

With all do respect: Centerforce are junk

hey guys, thanks for the help. i will check them out tomorrow. as far as centerforce being junk, well that would not be my choice to but in a truck for towing heavy. but i like them when it comes to 300 hp and 39. 5 iroc's with 2 lb of air pressure and a 168 to 1 gear ratio. given that the jeep might weight 3500 lbs.

thanks

Centerforce clutches do better in gas engines because they turn more RPM's allowing the pressure plate to have more clamping pressure. Our CTD's don't turn enough RPM's to allow the CF clutches to hold our amazing HP & TQ at such a low range.

Buddy of mine had a dual friction in a 94 5spd 2500 with a #10 plate and 300 injectors..... started slipping after a month... . centerforce said "tough" :rolleyes: :-{}

For a CTD stick to what works... ... South Bend Oo.

SBC DD for the Dodge, custom Centerforce for the rock crawler Samurai.

The OFE would be a good clutch. But know where you want to wind up for HP, and do it once.
