Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Help low RPM Stall

I ordered a gauge set from Vulcan with pyro, boost, and trans temp. I Have a question about the hookups for the boost. It came with three fitting. The one obviously hooks into the gauge. Then there's a coupling of sorts that the other male fitting goes into. My question is, where do I tap into the air supply. I thought boost botls replaced a bolt in the intake, but the male fitting is a touch too big and the threads are finer thread. I can't find any other size bolts on the intake plate, so, what am I not seeing?

Also, the gauge A-Pillar doesn't seem to fit around the other very good. Is this normal? I'll try heating it up a little and bending around the reg. A-pillar.

Thanks

Your boost bolt should replace any of the bolts closest to the driver's side of the valve cover; the ones with a 10mm head. Mine had one right between the injector lines that was a perfect fit - it was almost opposite where I drilled and tapped for the thermocouple (to give you an idea where it was).

If it were my truck, I'd just order the bolt from Geno's and save the hassle of R&Ring the horn.
I think it'd look a little cleaner, too.

Mever Mind. I found the bolt. It was hiding amongst the packing peanuts. Is there a "best" place to tap into the lighting circuit? I'm going to make them dim with the dash lights.
Also, how'd you do the trans temp? I'm going to have to go and get a fitting. I was thinking of tapping into the line going to the trans cooler. I know the drain plug would be the easiest way, but I guarantee first trip across a field with cornstalks the wire would be gone. Thanks for the help

I have the 6 speed, so I can't help you with the trans.
I tapped into the light circuit above the junk holder (under the radio), but only because I already had some taps there for the lights on my fuel pressure gauge. I think there's a wire coming off the back of the dimmer switch you can use, but I don't know which one it is. Maybe someone will chime in with the right color wire.

The little cover on the side of the dash, where the fuses are, i think it is fuse #5 is off the dimmer switch on the headlights.

I think it was the tan colored wire I tapped coming outta the headlight switch on my 02, that was the power feed to the gauge lights from the dimmer switch. You can probe the terminal from the back side of the plug with a volt meter and then run your negative lead to a ground and see if the voltage changes as you move the dimmer switch. Careful tightning the boostbolt. I didn't put much pressure on mine at all and it snapped off. I got it out with an extractor and got some bushings to adapt the boost line fitting to the hole in the manifold next to the MAP sensor that had a big pipe plug in it.

The spec for the boost bolt is only like 12lb/ft... . I didn't have a torque wrench that went down that low so I tried to remember what 18lb/ft felt like from my KDP fix and twisted accordingly.

Been gone all week so I couldn't respond. I tapped into the wire coming out of the headlight switch. I haven't got the transmission temp hooked up yet, but pyro and boost work and all have lights.

The A-pillar cover doesn't fit worth a darn over the factory, so I'm going to try using just the cover and maybe screwing it to the metal. At 60, flat ground I see around 550 degrees and 4-5 lbs of boost. I'm assuming this is normal? Thanks
