Well, my old Craftsman floor jack has finally given up on me. Give me your recommendations on a replacement. The Craftsman was a 3.5 ton, pretty big, and heavy. The arm is probably 20”-24” long, the bowl @ 7” diameter, and the handle is 1-1/4” diameter pipe @ 4’ long.

Just bought one recently after much deliberation. I went with the Daytona SD from HF.

I had an older HF 3ton low pro Pittsburg for the longest time that I kept in my bed, I've gotten about 5 hard years out of it. It's lifted just about everything I've needed and then some.

The new Daytona seems to be lightyears ahead although it is pretty heavy. The quality is there, plenty of service grease ports even on the front casters. First thing I noticed when I put it on the ground was how much easier it was to move around even though it's much heavier than my last Jack. Rapid pump checks out, its alot faster than my previous one.

I'm not big on powder coating or aesthetics but the Candy Apple Metallic Flake red color that I got realllllllly pops when light hits it. I think its pretty unnecessary but overall the quality of the Jack is standout.

Scott.. If you are looking not to spend a lot, I bought this Northern Tool 3T model and its been surprisingly reliable I bought a few that were junk in the past couple decades like you after my good craftsman one broke.. I use a lift now so not much jacking anymore but it does the job.

Thanks, fellows.

After I found the manual for the old Craftsman I had, it was actually a 2.25-ton jack. I ended up picking up a 2-ton from Harbor Freight. The Craftsman had handled everything I need it for. The heaviest thing I have is a 3415 Ford tractor.

A fellow on CompD gave me this link to a website that sells seal kits and parts for jacks, https://www.hcrcnow.com/shop/seal-kits/craftsman-sears

I'll see if I can get a seal kit and rebuild the Craftsman.

I have an old Tru-Lift I bought 30 plus years ago.... a nice little 2.25T made in Japan. It started leaking down a little a year or two ago & I found a kit on your hcrcnow.com web site. Very good quality kit w/ every seal, washer, and ball check in it. After the rebuild, I kept the CJ7 up on it for a 24 hour leak-down test and it didn't budge. I picked up a spare kit for whoever rebuilds that bad boy 30 years from now. They'll have your kit if you can ID who made the Craftsman. Good outfit.

Thanks for the website. I have a 5 ton Walker jack that belonged to my dad. I think he bought it back in the late 70's. It needs some TLC. I believe I have a new project to work on:)

My brother just bought a Daytona from Harbor Freight. It seems like a decent jack for being Harbor Freight. It was several hundred less the Hein Warner which he had considered. He couldn't justify it as it will only get used a handful of times in a year.

I used HCRCnow for a kit for my Craftsman 2-ton, which now works as new. From my experience, very good customer service too.

I have the Snap-on version. Before it skyrocketed in price. It works great - MUCH better than the cheaper jacks I have or use.

Nope - just looked on their website - China.

I have the 2 ton unit - holy cow batman - $925!!! I paid less than 1/2 that. No idea if mine was American made or China. Either way I still really like my jack and to me - it was worth it after going through 3 other jacks. The supposedly good NAPA one lasted 4 years....grrrr

I wonder if the same Chinese company that makes the snapon makes the HF unit.
