Canon Powershot A80 help...

Well I need to purchase a lawn mower. The yard is not to big. A walk behind will be plenty. I have been looking on the internet at the Honda line. Can anyone give some suggestions? The one in particular I was looking at is this HRC216HXA A little pricey, but I would rather spend the money on quality and reliability, then have to buy something over and over again. Anyway, any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I won't buy anything but a LawnBoy, but I would imagine that the Honda is a good quality item... this is the one I have, it's about $675. There's only one 'better', it's self propelled, and about $100 more. I was given this one when my parents divorced, I mowed the yard with it since 1982... I had to replace the primer bulb a couple years back...

you've got to be kidding

$1129. 00 for a mower??

I have a 12 year old Craftsman 22" cut with power drive, mulch/bag option, eletric start and all. It runs like new. I cut 3 properties with it, and it has not let me down. It cost $ 399 new. I have replaced the gel cell battery, and the blade, and the carb once.

I feel that it is all in how you care for your equipment. I'll admit there is junk out there but, for 1,129 it better do more than cut grass.

E7 out.

Mackman, you must have taken VERY good care of that Craftsman to still have a deck left for the engine to bolt to after 12 years...

if you spend $1129 on a mower and you still have to walk behind it you are crazy unless you get into the big commercial mowers that can tow you

Go to Home Depot and buy the $500 Honda. I have the 3-speed model and it is great. First pull every time, great fuel economy and power.

Honda or Snapper. Can't go wrong with either.

Both of my mowers are older than me -- the walk-behind is a Snapper, vintage '74 or so. Built like a tank, huge bag, in fact the 2006 models look exactly the same---why **** with a good thing? :-laf

On it's third engine--the Tecumseh blew up, the replacement Briggs blew up, and now a 5hp Honda commercial engine... ... . best of both worlds IMHO.

My deck is as good as new, no rust at all. This next spring, i'll probably put some new wheels on it. They are close to worn out.

MTD From walmart Oo. I have a commercial walker that I run 300 hours a year but the MTD has been with me for 6 years thrown in and out of the truck and still runs, all I do is change the oil $150. 00

I like the MTD 22 in, 6. 75 hp, big rear wheel at Lowes. It used to be $199, but I imagine it's gone up these last few years. I ran one from April to Oct several years ago, averaging 8 hours run time a day, 6 days a week. Then ran it similarly the next year from April to July. It was at that point that the rings had no compression left in them. If your just cutting your own yard, it would take quite a while to cut that many hours.

I had a Genaric mower, self propelled with a 3. 5hp Briggs on it. My G-pa gave it to me (his cost $125 at the time) when I was 12... . I'm 27 now... . I snapped the recoil on it last year... . still ran. Knocked and burned oil... but ran and ran well. Never stalled, never missed a beat. I'll look for another one.

I think the biggist thing is the good engine... get a good one and your set. A mower deck is a mower deck.

keep a eye out at lowes and sears for bring backs, got my craftsman 20hp rider at a good deal years ago and troybuilt push/self prop for half of the $300 they normally go for at lowes

Honda HRX... it has been bullet proof for us. It will bag or mulch or anywhere inbetween. Some kind of composite deck that won't rust or crack.

Guys I know with Hondas are sorry they bought it. Stay away from Sears and MTD. . I just bought a Snapper. It was about $600 and I say well worth it! Starts on first pull, never cloggs, and it sucks up every blade of grass! the catcher is the easiest to empty of any mower Ive ever owned! With this mower, i look foreward to mowing my 6000 sq ft of lawn so much I do it twice a week! It is a walk behind and self propelled.

I aquired a 1967 John Deere 112 w/10 horse tech. engine and 42" deck. It will outlast any brand on the market both new or old.

Nothing runs like a DEERE :D

I have had a John Deere and it was a good lawn mower until they changed the model and we couldn't get the drive mechanism fixed. The honda had been almost bullet proof.
