Hello guys, I need a quick price check. My son has found a 93 5sp,CTD, i no the truck has 126 thousand on OD,and is a 4x4 single cab,cab lights, one owner. no tail gate it was stolen. Truck has been sitting for about a year, very straight body, never wrecked, no dents, etc. Now what would be a fair offer, the guy wants him to make a offer. I am thinking 6,500 or 7000 does this sound about right. Of course we want a good deal but we dont want to rip him or make him mad. any ideas. inside looks very nice also. HELP NEED QUICK ANSWER IF POSSIBLE.

Whats up guys, doesnt anybody have a opinon? I need to no if possible tonight so i can tell my son something by tomorrow. Am i even close, like i said he does not want to offer to little but not to much either. HELP ANY OPINIONS PLEASE

I would say anywhere from $7,000 to $10,000. I bought my 1992 used for $9,500, It had everything but the LE package(5 speed, manual door locks/windows). That truck is a 1993, which would make it worth a little more, these trucks hold their value. Another place to check is on the internet, check by looking under used car values, truck prices, etc. From the sounds of it this truck has many more years of service left in it, let us know what you end up doing :)

Thanks for answering, i think we need to offer more than we thought. I no it will be a great truck and like i said we dont want to offend him, these are great trucks. I have had several but you dont run across a deal everyday. I would rather no up front what the asking price is ha. He told my son to make a offer:eek: Thank you again. My son is bouncing off the walls i hope the deal goes through.

How's the tires/ those will run $600 or so depending on what you get. Is the truck running OK? Paint OK? Big item is transmission - if auto, will run 2,000 or so to rebuild.

Lots of questions but I think the $7000 is probably a decent starting point.

Check for leaks and DRIVE IT & listen to the getrag trans, maybe take a oil sample from the transmission & look for metal. Just about the worst thing you can do to these trucks is not drive them:D . $7000 a good place to start, but don't be suprised if he wants $9000 or higher.

Just to give you another reference, I bought mine about a year ago from a local guy I know. It had 106K miles, very clean, well cared for, no problems except rust starting on rockers. It was bone stock also. I paid $9,000.

Hope your son gets it or another nice one. I love my truck more all the time. Also check ebay, there are first gens there sometimes.

Greeting, personaly I think your right on the money at 6500-7000

for a decent 1st gen regular cab 4x. As a rule of thumb I always reverse the thought process and ask myself what would I reasonably hope to sell the prospect vechicle for and make my offer. finallly If the seller won't name a price... well then its all fair game. good luck!

Ithink prices may differ depending on what part of the country you live. I would pick up a Truck Trader magazine and have something to show him as to what others are asking for simular trucks and to give you an idea as well. Good Luck.
