need a tailgate

well liek the title says i need a tailgate for a 06 ram(in sig) the trailer came off the hitch and hit tge gate so its fubar and im now in a search for a new one so if ya'll could direct me to a good place to get one that would be great and the cheaper the better thanks in advanced

There are a couple body shops on ebay selling new ones painted to match. I run across these regularly because I'm looking for a gate for my 1st gen. There's a third who is selling the gate primed ready for paint for a little cheaper, but you would spend the $100+ extra for the paint supplies (base, clear, thinners, converters, etc. ) even if you did it yourself. Add shop labor on top of that and the painted-to-match gates are sounding like a pretty good deal...

Same thing happened to me.

It was covered by my insurance, under comprehensive coverage, as a "falling object" insurance paid 100% for a new tailgate!

yeah it could be covered by insurance but we are trying to keep it off that

JTadra makes a good point, which I should have thought of since I work for a large midwestern insurance company You might want to check with your agent because usually the comprehensive claims won't affect your rates. I know my company had no problems replacing two of my windshields in one summer (I live on rural tar-and-gravel roads) and no issues with paying for a lot of hail damage on one of my trucks several years ago. It might be worth looking into if you don't have a high deductible.
