Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) need a trouble code id'd

hey guys what is the code 1693 my brother inlaws truck is dead and i told him id check out whats goin on he has fuel to the injector but thats as far as i got now i know its tripping the code 1693 but its not in my book thanks for the help

That is a companion code, there should be another code along with it, like 0216. What year is your bil's truck? Can you guys pull the codes by turning the ignition on and off 3 times quickly without starting the truck? Need more truck info.

its an 01 and it does the 1693 and then says p done

1693 is a companion code from the PCU you need to let the codes from the ECU to come up it may take a few seconds to show them. Only after the mileage shows back in the window is it through reading the codes, you will get a P DONE twice. Hope this helps

for some reason the truck is not flashing a second code can anyone tell me why? it flashes the 1693 and then goes straight to p done

After the P-DONE does it go back to the milage display?

My buddies did the same thing on his 02, so I borrowed a plug in modual and it read 1693 and 216 but I dont believe it ever flashed it on the truck display.

Have you tried to re-set the ecm/pcm by pulling the neg. cables off the battery?

Yeah, he said he left his truck set a whole day with the neg. cable off the batterys and when he put it back on and left his house it immediately had the dead pedal and the codes came right back
