Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need Advice 2002 automatic transmission

I have a 2002 with auto transmission. The past two times I have placed the truck into reverse there was a delay in transmission responding. It was as if I was in nuetral. The truck has low mileage, under 22,000 and is used to carry a slide in camper. Any feedback as to what problem is and if warrenty will cover would be appreciated.
