My father called me yesterday and said he was looking at a 2001 2500 CTD. I'm not familiar with the 2nd gen trucks so I'd like to know what to look out for. The truck has 67000 miles and they are asking about 22,000 for it. Seems a little high to me, but like I said, I'm not sure. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

John

Is it reg cab or quad cab, 4x4 or 2x4, auto or manual, long bed or short bed. I purchased my 99 quad cab, 5 speed, short bed, 4x4 for $16,000 and it had 92,000 miles on it. If its quad cab and 4x4 I would say that price isnt too bad.

If its a 4x4..... Id be ALL over it like a fat kid on cake. (thanks Partsman) Here in Ohio theres a quad cab, manual transmission,4X4,with 98k miles for $26900. If you want an actual value, go to Auto trader put in the info, and see what their doing in the market where you live.

The 4x4 QC's I've seen around here have been over $25k with closer to 100k on them. Personally I think the $22k sound ok. My truck was 11 months old and had 24k on it when I got it for $25k, that was about $8k off of book value and it was really clean, also I was able to contact the previous owner and find out why they got rid of it.

Got My 01. 5 65,000 Miles For 25k And It Allready Had A Lot Of Extras On It. 22,000 Sounds Like A Good Deal Bone Stock. Another Thing Late 01 Is When They Came With Disk Brake Rear. Just Something To Look For.

22K seems ok to me if the truck is a 4x4 and if its in pretty good condition. With that kind of mileage, it could be a decent deal depending on the condition of the truck.
