Didn't mean to doubt you but that is so foreign to what I am finding it was hard to believe. I will file that number. A trip to the sunny south in mid-winter might just be the ticket. Good luck on the truck.

If thats what you are looking for, then I would jump on it. I really don't think $5000 is far out of line for a clean well maintained truck with a good body. Not many 2wd here, but 4wd usually go for a MINUMIN of $7000 and thats farm truck bodies. I wouldn't sweat the auto, just plan on prolly having to do something about it, and plan on spending half of what you paid for the truck on the transmission. I too am a firm believer in 5spd's but with watching what some guys do to autos now I wouldn't be afraid of it.

I just picked up a '90 W250 w 727 and 3:55's. Body is VERY rough, ie farm truck, and with 160,000 miles, original transmission for $2500. I am SURE I got a good deal, BUT I bought this from a friend and he wanted me to have the truck, so this price is not a good comparison.

:) I bought the truck even though it was on the high end on price.

These trucks seem to be hard to find so I took the plunge and bought it. I hope I have no regrets later. The only thing I could find wrong with is that the belt seems to squeal a little

Thanks again everybody.

On a truck with Auto transmission with such high mileage In what order of importance would someone prioritize the installation of gauges?

If you are happy with the way the truck runs now. Then the importance of gages is not to high on the list. In stock form the engine will not hurt it self (as far as EGT's are concerened) in any way no matter how hard you drive it or tow with it.

If you are going to turn it up. Then do gages before anything else.

As far as the auto is concerned. If it has had regular maint done on it. It will be fine. It isn't as weak as some people would like you to think it is. The converter is the main problem. It is loose from the factory. The stock converter doesn't apply the power as good as a aftermarket performance does.
