AFE Magnum Force?

My 99 is basically stock. Putting 5" stacks on it next month. I was thinking about getting the AFE Magnum Air Filter setup with the filter cover (sock). Will I see any difference and will I hear the turbo much more? I alread removed the silencing baffle from the turbo housing. I know the setup eliminates the stock air box. Will I still be using the air intake tube that feeds the box air now? I dont understand how the filter is gonna get the air supply without the box in place anymore. I have also heard random things about these aftermarket filters letting debris into the turbo and how detrimental over-oiling the filter can be but I assume if I keep it clean I should be OK. Was just looking for some input on doing this before I shell out almost $300 beans.

I have had one on my truck for about a year with no problems. It fits on the factory air box studs with no problems, and yes you use the factory hose. this filter moves allot of air and you will notice a little more whistle from your turbo, but if you already removed your silencer ring I'm sure you wont mind the noise. A couple of issues ago in the T. D. R. book some one did a test with several different types of filters including the AFE and actually got better results with this filter than any other one he tested, including running the truck with no filter at all. As for this filter letting debris into the turbo, I drive in dusty environments almost every day at the ranch with no problems. GOOD LUCK.
