I am going to look at an 01 Laramie SLT Quad Cab 4x4 2500 with heated leather seats, auto, tow pkg, short bed with color matched cap,all the bells and whistles,78K miles, new tires and brakes. Asking price is $23000. My questions are:

1. Do these trucks have rear disc brakes?

2. Is there a HO engine for these models and how would I know when I look at the truck?

3. What should I be aware of as to special problems for an 01?

My currrent ride is a 92 2500 4x4 which I have owned since new. I intend to keep it as it only has 260,000 and is running strong. I have been out of the market so long I've lost touch.

Thanks for any help.

About mid-year 2001, they started supplying rear disks. . just look and you should see if you have them or not.

I think all the HO's came with 6 speed transmission, but could be wrong.

Most common problem I know of is lift pump failures. Do a search and you will find plenty of reading.

So Cal is correct. 01. 5 had rear discs. HO only came with 6 spd. Spare lift pump is necessary as is fuel pressure guage.
