Hi everyone and thank you in advance!

I have noticed that when between 3rd and 4th gear (I have an automatic transmission) and I’m steady at about 45 mph that my transmission sounds like it kicks back and then resume in the gear that it’s in. It’ll do that more noticeable when I’m at a steep incline.

Any thoughts?

There are two things to check. It could be torque converter unlocking and locking. It's usually caused by alternator noise and there are several solutions.

Second, there's a throttle valve cable connecting the throttle to the transmission (aka kickdown cable). It might need adjusting.

Thank you Road Dog!

Question on the valve cable. Would that have anything to do with the cable that runs from the shift indicator?
