as some of you know i put a new injection pump on my truck. well while waiting for the parts i decided to do my brakes since they were bad. i installed a. r. t cryo rotors, carbon metalic pads, new drums, shoes and the chevy wheel cylinders. well tonight i get the truck running bleed out the system and my brakes dont really stop me. i can stop but the pedal goes all the way to the floor and it slows you down. i bled and bled and bled and it wont get any better. the thing i notice is the pedal goes all the way to the floor does not feel spongy and is slow to return. can anyone give me a lead on whats wrong. i cleaned all the friction surfaces well and did not touch them after wards so its not oil. the rears are adjusted and working it just doesnt stop. some things that ive noticed are my abs light is on and me brake light is on. when i drive it doesnt feel like the brakes are dragging so i dont think it really engaged. any idea as to what it would be. thanks in advanced matt

Your anti-lock system has a check valve that can fixed in the foreward position. There are OEM specs for the fix but I don't have those. My fix was to loosen the rear brake lines off the ABS unit and stomp the pedal with the engine and key off. If it resets you will need to re-bleed the brakes.

Be sure bleed system slowly so as not to push the diversion valve back again.

well tried that and it feels a little better but i dont think bleeding will help anymore. i did bleed it out a lot too. so whats next

I'll talk to my neighbor tomorrow and ask about getting the diversion valve reset.

When you bled the system did you do it with truck running and allow the pedal to travel all the way down? Just info he may need when I approach him.

Soundslike the master cylinder got damaged and is bleeding by the seals inside. Happened to mine. When you bleed the system put something under the pedal to prevent the pedal from going all the way to the floor and reaching that "spot that it never does" when you drive it. I got a "new" one with the reservoir for $109 @ Auto Zone.

well solved my problem apperently the little deal that pushes the shoe out on the right rear rear was off and not pushing back like it should problems now solved and brakes are the best ive ever had in my life
