Hi, I need to find someone in the Long Beach, CA area to do some brake work on my truck.

I'm just looking for a known good shop. My wife is there with the truck and it suddenly started grinding badly. If possible, I'd like a reference to some place that SHE can go and won't get ripped off. She HAS to have it repaired immediately.

Thanks

Mark

Fast, Cheap, Good: Pick any two...

I guess that's the lesson.

Glen Thomas Dodge got my truck in quick, fixed it quick, and apparently right.

They would not shop for parts, nor would they buy from NAPA, so thier cost for the job was nearly 600 for a simple brake job. I could have done it myself for around $190. In the end, it cost about $320.

I believe the parts on the truck were from NAPA, and so I wanted the possibility of warranty, which is why I needed the replacements to come from NAPA

The truck had a full front brake job just 13 months ago, turned rotors, new calipers, new pads. I wore through the entire pad (all the pads, no stuck calipers) in perhaps 20K miles, and I'm really REALLY easy on the brakes (I engine brake, coast, etc... ) and have not seriously worked them, even when towing.

Anyway, lesson learned, don't put off till next month, what you could have done last month.

If the wife hadn't left with my truck, I had planned to replace both rotors (one was warped slightly) already and replace the pads.

I guess maybe I'll get some of those fancy kevlar pads or something, to go with my new rotors when the truck gets back.

Thanks all...
