I am looking for someone competent that can adjust the timing on my 12 valve in the Spokane, Wa - Coeur d'Alene, ID area. If anyone has a positive experience with having this work performed on their rig, please let me know. With the information I have absorbed reading in this forum, the answers I get from businesses regarding how they perform the work makes me suspicious that they may not know how to do the task properly. I only want to do this once, as I have learned it is not a cheap procedure (225. 00 - 250. 00) . Any input appreciated!

Good luck. Went to several big rig shops around here as there is no "Pickup truck size" diesel shop. All of them said no, and directed me to another one that said no.

Finally found one about 2 counties over that said no prob do my timing and my idle (too low) in about a hour and 1/2 - 2hrs.

Be patient, but persistant you'll find one

Illflem,

The last time we were at Shelly Automotive for Diesel Thinder last year, they had never seen a diesel in their shop before and didn't know anything about them. Have things there changed?

Diesel Thunder is a dyno day event that Big Bob and Jason Burton put together for the east side of the mtn folks.

RT_Craig,

You might give Wentland Diesel in Milton-Freewater, OR a call. 800-822-3875. It might be a bit farther than you had intended to drive, but they do diesel pickups (Bosch certified techs). Several folks in the West have gone there including myself. Talk to Richard if you call.

I've run up there, had the pump pulled and bench tested, and drove home all in one day. Its about 250 miles one way for me.

I second Wentland they built my pump (Merlin) installed it (Doug) along with 60lb springs, BD exhaust brake and custom down pipe eliminating the 2 90 degree bends in the first gen down pipe. I will be at Diesel Thunder - to meet everyone and will dyno my first gen.

Happy trails:)

Bob
