Hey Everyone.

Could any of you North of the border supply a Dodge dealer phone number. Anywhere in Canada is fine. I'm trying to find an out-of-stock part for my '93.

Thanks very much.

Dealer Phone Numbers

Hello Mark, Plenty of Mopar dealers here in Toronto, I counted 28 in my local phone book. There is a very large DC parts depot just west of the city, so you may get lucky.

Try these two, and if you want any more let me know.

QEW 427 Dodge Chrysler 416-259-4605

Islington Chrysler Plymouth 416-239-3541

If the part you need is available, and not too large I may be able to help you with shipping.

Neil:D

Thank you very much Neil!!!!!!!

Toronto is perfect. Beacause of the time difference I can call first thing Monday.

I'm sure the dealer I call can check "the system" and find the part at a warehouse or other dealer if it exists in Canada.

Thanks also for your kind offer to ship it.

The part is the clutch release fork, which is neither large nor heavy.

If the part is available close to you AND the dealer cannot ship it (for some strange reason) I will definitely make it worth your trouble to send it!

Thanks once again for the help.

Neil is the Shipping Guru!

I can completely vouch for Neil's attention to detail when it comes to shipping. When he shipped me his OEM spare tire carrier a few months ago I thought I was receiving the Ming Dynasty Vase from Toronto.

Wrappin' with Neil! :D

Just having fun on a Monday & wanted to say, "Hey" to both of you!

KEENO:)

I have a few connections in the DC parts dept here, and may be able to help if yoo don't find one. Will help on price too as we are a repair garage and get wholsale on the parts. Let me know.

Hi Bigramguy, Keeno and Neil.

Things are looking really good on the clutch fork front.

Called Toronto dealer QEW 427 at 6:30 am California time and he checked the system which said two forks were available in Canada both in British Columbia-two different dealers.

At 6:50 I called one-and, not surprisingly, no answer.

Called the other, Vancouver Chrysler-Jeep, and got Paul Willis the parts department manager!
His shop didn't open til 8:00 but he immediately asked me what I needed. I told him my story, he checked the computer, got the part off the shelf and it's on it's way!

Can't wait to get this clutch job done.

Thanks again Neil!

Good to hear from you Keeno!

Hey Mark93!

Which manufactures clutch are you putting in the Beast? Did you go the Autozone "Sachs" route?

Just curious... .

Keeno

Hi Keeno man!

Yes, I ordered the Auto Zone unit and it is EXACTLY OEM. It is branded Sachs Made in Germany (old unit is branded Fitchel & Sachs and was made in West Germany-sounds strange now) and has the cast iron cover and HD 13" disk. Cost is 499. 99. Pep Boys and a LOT of other places have a clutch for "$249. 95" but they are simply the LUK brand 12 1/4" used in the newer trucks.

With 150K my clutch disk was only . 030" thinner than new. I estimate the disk had 75-100K miles left. Pressure plate-could not tell it was worn. Flywheel maybe . 002"-. 003"
uniform wear. My throwout bearing caused me to do the job.

I have replaced the rear main seal, resealed the transfer case and resealed the trans. I took the shift cover off the Getrag and everything looked great.

Hey Mark93! :)

Yeah! I remember you mentioning the AutoZone/Sachs clutch from previous postings!

Are you planning on replacing the Pilot Bearing when you have your flywheel ground? I installed a SBC package and utilized their Kevlar Pilot Bushing on my install.

Did you pull the Rear Main Seal Carrier when you did the seal or did you rely on the 'sheet metal' screw procedure as outlined in the manual?

It looks like you'll be rolling trouble free in no time.....

Keeno :D

HI again KEENO.

I replaced the pilot bearing with the Cummins part. The input shaft of the trans was mirror smooth so I went with factory stuff.

I did use the factory method as follows:

Drilled 2 7/64" holes in the seal.

Screwed in two dry wall screws with washers and a 4 ft length of chain between them.

Got on my back and caught the chain around a 3 lb hammer, swung once and it was out!
