Towing in the snow

Well... I am preparing for bikeweek in Daytona in the spring, and I will be needing a CHEAP dependable trailer..... any leads on something good for little $$$$ Ideas welcome.

What's cheap to you? I bought a 5X8 tilt bed, wood floor, 12" high metal sides, with 15" wheels brand new for $650. The brand is H&H... made in Iowa somewhere. They make the full gamut... from small 4X8's to 10X20 enclosed, I believe.

You can sometimes find a used jet ski trailer when the people have sold the jetski seperately. It is a light weight trailer, but should be fine for the motorcycle.

MBurke, from personal experience, make sure you put bearing buddies on those things!!! Those 12" tires will be hauling butt at 75mph and if one of the wheel bearings "dries out", it's not long before the tire and trailer contents are on fire;) Good luck...

Buy an extra wheel/tire from HF. Those kits don't come with a spare. On a long trip at highway speed there's a real chance one of those little tires will blow. I know of it happening several times to different people. Better yet buy a set of bigger wheels for it. I think HF has them.

And if it's the kit that has the metal wheel channel and no deck, put a plywood deck down before you mount the channel. It makes the trailer much less prone to torsional flex (I've had one of these trailers - can't beat it for the $$).
