I'm looking for a core torque converter for my 1990. Non intercooled, non overdrive, non lockup. I want to see if I can improve mileage with a tighter converter. I need something to use as a core so I don't have the truck down for 1-2 weeks.

Most places will send you a TC and you just return the core for a refund. Spend some of that hard earned money for a worthy cause. :D

Everything I got is too far away and would cost more than the core charge to ship it. You might try a little trading and offer some advertising for free shipping and no core charge? :-laf

If you have one, maybe I could pay you to ship it directly to the company, especially if you don't want much for it. Otherwise I will continue looking closer to the left coast for one.

Who's converter are you going to try?

I will check with my son and see what we have left. We had a couple spares but in the process of both of us moving not sure what made the trip.

I have had excellent results over the years with BD converters. They have one for the early Turbo Diesels that reportedly helps fuel mileage noticeably.
