Guys,

I finally got that darned Rear Wheel Speed Sensor replaced, but the ABS and Brake Light are still on... Now what?. ?. ?

Is there a way to "flash" or reset the darn computer? I know on older Jeeps you could do the on-off-on-off thing about 5 or 6 times and it would reset everything. Or is this something that will reset itself after a few more starts?. ?. ? I already re-started 4-5 times...

Any more assistance would be greatly appreciated as I plan on leaving for an extended trip on Thursday morning... PLEASE HELP!!! I know its not vital, but I just want things working properly and dread going to the dealer...

Thanks!

Mark

I hate to bring it up but did you check the fuses? Also, whatever is causing the problem is there when the key is turned on because the light will not stay on if the system is working properly. It is not like the check engine light that may stay on even if the problem is not occuring at that time. If the fuses are good (make sure you check both fuse panels) then it may be a wiring problem or a controller problem.

Yes, I checked both fuses. Unfortunately, I don't own a voltmeter so I couldn't tell for sure if the one under the hood was still good or not. It looked okay, but I know sometimes looks can be deceiving, right?. ?. ? Anyway, I'm takin it to Auto Zone tomorrow afternoon and having them check both fuses for me. I'll let you know more then.

Seeing how this whole problem originated in rainy weather, I'm still feeling like its a short somewhere... :(

Maybe I'll buy a voltmeter, anyone know a good brand/model and a rough price for it?. ?. ?

Thanks as always,

Mark

Head down to your local Sears store and pick up one of the Fluke brand multimeter's. They are under a $100. You might also want to hit a electrical supply house and buy the large lead kit. That way you will have every lead made for it. All the different ends do come in handy at times. The big lead kit runs around $50. Sears doesn't handle the lead kit

Stay away from the other ones there. This is the only one worth buying there.

Do you have a manual?

I found the problem with mine by checking every connector in the system, looking for corrosion or a loose wire. I finally found one that was full of water. After it dried out the lights went off and have stayed off. If you don't have a manual or can't read elec schematics you might be replacing a lot of parts before you hit the right one.
