2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission need front end info

im about to lose my factory warranty on my 2001, quad cab, 4x4, 2500 diesel auto. i took the truck to my dealer this morning to have the front end checked. they are going to replace the tie rod end and track bar, but while the drag link is worn a little, about 40 thousands play. they will not replace it because dodge calls for 10 thousands, but will not replace under warranty untill over 80 thousands wear is shown. do i have a complaint? should i pay to have the drag link changed myself? i may have the 2 parts reversed. but what i want to know is it ok to replace one and not the other. is there any way i can have dodge foot the bill?

Did they not guarantee it for x amount of miles. If it is out of spec within the warranty mileage, I would think they should replace it as part of the system.
