I installed a Di-Pricol fuel gauge from Geno's Garage. It is 2" diameter. Put in Banjo Fitting from Geno's at the Schrader Valve on the injection pump and used a grease gun hose (Napa) to sending unit (1/8 NPT). Sending unit is not electrical. Has a small hard clear line filled with antifreeze to the gauge which is lighted. Works good.

Here lately, I've been gnawing on this subject like a hungry dog on a meaty bone!

Seriously, I think the Di Pricol may be your answer if you are looking for a "Factory" appearance in a MECHANICAL Fuel Pressure gauge. Only problem is, it is a 2 inch instead of 2 1/8 inch. DieselPowerProducts.com has them in stock, RIGHT NOW, with orange/red illuminated pointers with through-the-dial lighting on a black face with black bezel. They just got them in and called me so I could order!

How-some-ever, since I had been waiting on DPP to get this order in, I contacted Isspro. Guess what? They are in the final testing stages of an ELECTRICAL Fuel Pressure gauge in their Enhanced Vision series. It too has a orange/red illuminated pointer, through-the-dial lighting, with black face and black bezel. The other thing is, Isspro makes Boost gauges that go to either 30, 40, or 60 PSI. But again, I think Isspro is also 2 inch.

My big decision has been whether to order the Di Pricols or wait for the new Isspro - due out in January.

Incidently, Geno's does NOT stock the Di Pricol's with the red pointers (unless they got a shipment in within the last two weeks). Also, VDO - the other gauge manufacturer that looks like OEM, does not make a Fuel Pressure guage at all in the Vision Series, so that's not an option . . . although they do make their guages in 2 1/8 inch. Frustratin', ain't it.

By the way, anybody have an opinion on Boost Gauge requirements . . . . . oh shoot, that's anyother thread, ain't it? :)

If it doesn't bother you that it says Boost or Oil on it just use a boost or oil pressure gauge. You will have plenty of choices then.

i have never heard of a 2 1/8" gauge... the standard of gauges is 2 1/16". and most people end up calling it 2". it is the measurment of the gauge housing and not the trim on the outside...

I'm just curious Diesel Freak why 1/8" makes that much difference? Is it a mouting problem if so you could improvise a layer of tape or something on the case. Just curious.

the 1/8 really does not matter. I just want a gauge that goes over 15 psi. Since my factory lift pump... yes... just one relocated to the tank makes over 15 psi at idle.

As already mentioned ( I think), the Di Pricols go to 30 psi and the ANTICIPATED Isspro will go to 40 psi (I believe that's what Kelly at Isspro told me :) )

This is the one I bought, haven't installed it yet though. I has the 1/8 NPT fitting, and it fits all the 2" (or 2-1/16 or 2-1/8 or whatever) pods.

so where do you tap for the fuel pressure? i bought one of those npt fittings from tst to tap at the top of the fuel filter. i thought this was only for temporary purposes only. where are you tapping for permanent fuel pressure readings? thanks. scott.

I pulled one of the plugs out of the test ports in the top of the fuel filter canister and pick up fuel pressure pre filter there.

I'm going to put a separate smaller mechanical guage post filter in the engine compartment for comparison purposes.

Call Rod over at Wildcat Diesel, he will set you up with everything you need. 0-30# Isspro fuel gauge, s/s braided line, and some of his high flow banjo bolts. Took me about 45 minutes to install all the banjo's and the guage in a single pod on the pillar. I tapped into the banjo bolt that is post fuel filter and seem to be getting good reading there. And if you replace the bulb in the guage with a blue one, it looks almost factory.

Not sure were you hang out on the roads, I live in Newcastle and work at Tinker so I drive I-44 and I-240 daily. We are trying to get a chapter started in Ok FYI! If I see a CTD I'll usually lay a screen down;)
