Woa Just crusing down 40 west bound and lost either transmission or something in motor. Good Sams coming to tow . The motor will start and rev and die. My first impression is torque converter came apart? Any suggestions will help. They are going to tow me and my toyhauler to walmart for the night and will tow the truck somewhere for me tomorrow. I will check back in an hour or so. Thanks Dirk
Edit The wrecker eta is 3.30 Arkansas Time and the walmart will be near the 183 mile marker.

Well got truck and trailer to wm Oil is full and looks good. Engine will not start now, sounds like the starter is grinding and won't turn over. I really need to know where to tow this to a shop that does good work and is fair...............any body got any suggestions, where you have had work done in the past? I can have them tow me 100 miles if it gets me to a good shop.....I am about 30 miles from Little Rock now. Dirk

Looks like a busted crankshaft. Will know more tomorrow. Did get ahold of Bill A TDR member He offered to help, Great guy. Talked to cummins and they can't get me any kind of quote and can't even find my crankshaft in the system, too old like me. Looks like time to buy another truck....... Just gotta figure where to leave my old one till i can come back to pick it up. More later Dirk

I can help you find somewhere to leave it closer back toward brinkley on I40 have several friends that farm in that area that have shops that would be fine to leave it at. If you are truck shopping I would highly recommend Red River Dodge in Heber Springs AR as for Ron Vest 501-858-9773. I thought I had posted earlier today to try them for service also they are a very Honest Dealership and some of the best pricing in this area.

Update. I took the truck to Higgins in north little rock. We took the transmission out and the flex plate was spun out tore in 2 . Replaced it and put it all back together, it ran fine and the mechanic took it around the block, gave it a little? romp and the transmission QUIT, had to push it out of the street. It will be monday before they can take it out again, but at least the motor is fine.. Thanks to you all for the help and to Bill from TDR's travel companion Great guy. Dirk
