I need some help, need the tightening sequence for the head bolts and the torque specs for the head and exhaust, if the exhaust has a certain order it needs to be tightened, that would be helpful also. Thanks in advance

If you don't want to get the service manual from Dodge or Cummins, the Haynes manuals have the diagram in them. I don't have a scanner, so I can't help you that way.

a helpful tip: "GENERALLY" not always but about 90% of the time you can use this method. Start in the center and work 'spiraling' outward. As for the actual torque I can't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks, Ill have to check the auto parts for a shop manual with it in it, be lucky if they have one for the cummins, slim pickins in this area.

Yeah actually I talked to my insurance agent today. I will have to start a new post though as I don't want to take away from the question at hand.

Going on memory here, so guys correct me if I'm wrong.

First pass torque all bolts in sequence to 66 ft. lbs.

Second pass torque all long rocker arm block bolts to 89 ft. lbs. (torque the small rocker arm block bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (they are now done)

Third pass torque all bolts in sequence an additional 90º turn.

I think the exhaust is 30 or 32 and again try to work your way from the center.
