I have just purchased a 2004 3500 DRW 2wd. The right side headlight was out thought it was bulb. Replaced the bulb, NOOP!

The headlight will work on bright but no low beam. Also the light out indicator in the instrument cluster is on.

I have checked voltage on this plug, low beam I am only getting 7. 34VDC & bright 12. 35VDC.

When I check the left side the voltages are 12. 35VDC on low & high.

It appears that I am not getting enough voltage, but I cannot locate the relay for this truck.

Can sameone here shead a little light on this for me or if you have share the schematics for this truck so I can trace this out.

Thanks

Thank you, I have had no luck in resolving this problem. Per the Haynes Manual I have picked up it doesn't list a relay or specific fuses for headlights only.

I check out the site you sent link to.

Have not been able to trace out the cause or culprit. I pulled the left side fender well so I could get to the Power distrabution blocks wires.

I may have a bad PDB. I ended up for the time being connecting the two front low beams together, but I still get the Lamp out indicator in the instrument cluster. .

Per the schematics there is no one fuse or one relay that the headlights work off of.

If anyone might have any ideas of what dirrection to go in please let me know.

I will keep you guys posted on my end as well.

THanks

I only have a 99 manual. The light feed should be hot all the time and the ground is switched which I'm sure you already know. There is a fuse in the PDC for the headlights, it is listed as "C" and is 20 amp, there is also a relay in PDC that pertains to the lights, it is labeled "security". The dimmer switch is probably your problem and it is part of the multifunction switch, I believe it is located in the steering column at the end of the turn signal handle, hard to access but I have read on here where some have changed it them selves. bg
