working on a 2000 3/4 ton 2wd and good old boys at dodge want 1100. 00 for all four ball joints does anybody make an aftermarket or know of some better prices??? This is a cilents truck and they hadent planed on spending that much on parts.

Mine lasted 90k the bottom ones were really shot and started to wear the tires on the outside. I used the NAPA top of the line ones and I also replaced the U-joints on the end of both front axles at the same time all of the replacement parts had grease fittings. cost about $400. 00 - $450. 00 I did the work myself, things were a little rusty from the (land of road salt heaven) here in upstate NY.

It took me About 7 - 8 hrs, but the job is done right and I used allot of Kendall super blue grease putting things back together DC sure didn't waste any on it when they built it! I would beleive that NAPA would also have the 2-WD versions at about the same price. minus the ( 2 ) U-joints. ;)

MOOG has them, but they have been on backorder for months. I have been waiting since June. The Y2K as you probably know is different than the 99 and older 2 wheel drive. All I can say is good luck.

There is an outfit called.....

Ingle... . that makes adjustable ball joints for the 4 wheel drives. Perhaps they make something for the two wheel drives. Sorry, I do not have their web site.

For 2000+ 4x4's

Quad4X4 told me they buy the balljoints from the same supplier as DC, this would not be my first choice.

Ingall's told me they don't sell lower balljoints.

Moog should have both upper and lower balljoints for 2000+ trucks on the market now. I called about two weeks ago and they had released either the upper or the lower, I can't remember which.

My lowers are wasted at 80K, about 1/4" of movement vertically.
