Hey all,

was trying to finish up putting my FMS box back in today and am stumped completely. Have had this thing in before and worked flawlessly, using the Blue Chip pump cover for the positive lead from the box tapped thru the pump cover and prior was using the ram horn bolt for my ground. Talking with Chip of Blue Chip he said I need to ground off the ground wire on the harness that leads into the VP44. Based on my reading this wire is the Black w/brown tracer.

Tried all this and am using a TST powergrabber for the tapping of the ground line instead of the scothlock method and no go! The box saws to check pump connection... ..... I checked it a million times, its all plugged in right.

What else do I need to try?

Jeff,

I just sent you a PM, but according to my Service Manual Page 8W 30-30 it states that the ground wire is the Black with Tan Tracer.

hey kev

got your pm, I found the Ground wire on the harness and have tried tapping it multiple times but still the FMS turns on and says Testing Pump Connection... ... . but no luck with it synching up. If my grid on the top of the VP had gotten messed up by the Pump cover would the VP still work?

I can't give you a definate answer as to if your VP will still work or not, but with you messing only with the ground, I wouldn't guess that there would be any problems with your VP. Have you thorughly checked out to make sure you have a tight connection with that pump cover?
