Need help finding 24 hour fuel station in the West

I am moving from northern Colorado to El Paso, TX. I'm guessing it will take around 11 hours and in order to avoid traffic, I'm going to do the entire trip overnight. My only concern is finding open fuel stations during that time. Do any of you know where I can find out who's open before I head out? I'll need some places that have open convenient stores too (nature calls). I'm sure AAA could help me out but I don't want to have to pay someone for this info. Thanks guys.

Go to www.flyingj.com They have 24 hour stops in every state you will be in.

I always buy fuel at truck stops when travelling and 90% of the time when I'm not.



I think the fuel tends to be cleaner because of the high turnover. Also, I can't remember ever seeing one that wasn't open 24 hours.



Stick with the national chains like Flying J, Pilot, & TA and you'll be just fine.



Oh, all the major players have "convenience store" features.

Are you taking interstate most of the way? If so I wouldn't worry about it.



If you're worried, figure out what towns you'll be near when you need fuel. Then use www.switchboard.com, or Microsoft's Streets & Trips (costs ~$30, but very useful) to find the nearest fuel stops.



If you've got a list of towns, post em, I'll look up fuel stops on S&T for you.

You gotta be in the service and have no choice.

I like parts of El Paso, good mexican restaurants, etc... but to live there? That's almost as bad as Hobbs, NM where I spent several years of working in the oil patch. (following the money ya know)

You guessed it guys, I'm a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army and headed to Fort Bliss for a mere 20 weeks. My first duty station will be Fort hood, which I expect will be a nicer place to live.

On my way back from Denver to Tucson afer picking up my truck, I got fuel at Los Lunas NM Kicks 66. EZ on and off. It's not really a truck stop, but seemed like a big station and probably sold a lot of diesel. It's about 40-50 miles south of Albuquerque NM.

There's a small truck stop so. of Albq. on the west side of I-25, mile marker 156 or 159. Real good little cafe in there also. Texaco I think. I've spent the night there a few times.

In that case, make sure you head over to Cattlemans Steakhouse and have yourself "The Cowboy". 32 oz's of pure Porterhouse heaven.



The restaurant owner's son drives a CTD and is a TDR member too.

Yes, MUCH nicer. Don't know how many TDR members are in Killeen, but a bunch of us aren't far from there... .
