Hi Fellas,

I am looking for a flatbed trailer to pull with the Dodge. I need it to haul hay, farm equipment, and all my other acquired treasures. I am looking for something between 20 and 25 feet long, with two 7,000 or 8,000 pound axles (single wheels), dove tail (prefer adjustable), and a total GVWR of 14,000 or 16,000 pounds. I hope to put 9,000 plates on the truck and 16,000 on the trailer and stay under the emphamis 26,000 GVW. I am not brand specific either. I would prefer used because new is too much $$$ for a college student. Any help or leads would greatly be appreciated.

Jeremy, I had a local welding shop build my 28', 30k lb duel axle, duel wheel GN flatbed. Cost $5,600 in '96, they even included installing the hitch on the truck and the electric brake controller. I was very surprised how cheap it was I was planning on more $. If I were you I'd go for duel wheels, nice to have when you need them, especally if you get a flat. Only complaint I've had is that they used 2"x12" boards for the bed, the wider boards have more of a tendency to cup than say 2x6s. Makes it a PITA with a forklift at times. If you don't mine traveling to Eastern WA there are lots of used ones around with the demise of the WA apple industry, I see ads for $2-3 k quite often.
