There was a fable about "Why Cats Hate Water" had something to do w/ a Golden Ring that a dog & cat were supposed deliver for the king. If they didn't they would have they tails cut off. Also it said when 2 dogs meet they always go nose-to-nose asking "did you loose the golden ring"?

My daughter had an Abyssinian cat that loved water. It would also fetch it's favorite toys. Maybe the genes got mixed up somewhere along the evolutionary line.
