The fold-flat floor is no longer a standard with the leather seats. It must now be checked as an additional option ($80). My salesman knew this, and we added it to the write-up. However, when the other guy submitted the order to DC, he missed it. I saw a copy of my order and noticed it was not on there. Originally, this morning, he said he would add-it, no biggie, since the truck wasn't to the build status, etc. However, I got the message tonight that they would not change the order. He had the parts guy pull the pricing for all necessary items - $750 for parts alone!!!..... Do I want to go ahead with this? The best I have so far, is they will take the floor out of a truck on their lot, and ammend that truck's sticker (hope you didn't want that one). I suggested we cancel the order & start again. They said it can't be done, the order is commited.

I have delt with their service department before, and personally don't think they are capable of installing it to look factory. I'm wondering how much would be involved to do it myself (after shelling out $40K:mad: )

Are the holes, etc. already in place to attach the brackets, etc. ? Will there be funny spacing/alignment issues? Is there major drilling/cutting required?

HELP ME!!! I plan to walk from the deal in the morning, but wonder if this is worth starting over for? (BTW, what are the current incentives, if I re-order tomorrow from another dealership)?

Hard as it might be, just walk away, man. I won't deal with anyone that can't fix their mistakes. Chances are, this wouldn't be the only time you would have problems.

Boonsur is the truck you ordered a Laramie or Slt with leather added? The Laramie Pkg includes the flat folding floor. Hope this helps. Greg

I say cancel the order and re-order. Its a simple bolt in installation if you want to go the other route but at that much change I would say go with the re-order. Its THEIR screw up... not YOURS:mad:

What's necessary to put it in?

I didn't get the flat cargo floor either. I assumed (big mistake, I know) that it came standard. I ordered last June, so the option info and codes weren't all available.

Anyway, I too would like to add the folding cargo floor. I checked and the parts are over $300 + $400 each for both sides. Ooof!

Can somebody take a look and see what's involved with putting these in for us? It's sure a nice option. (I also plan to look at wrecked trucks. ) Thanks

when i got my print out on my tuck it did not show the folding floor and i called dealer they said it is standard w/ slt prem cloth (B. S) they double checked come to find out it was not included anymore. dealer got it changed just in time. :D($88) i would have been so ******. i would have raised hell big time #@$%!

It is the dealers fault. Anything besides the dealer accepting responsibility for their screw up and fixing the problem is BS. They should fix it or you should cancel the deal, period.

OK, going to show my lack of knowledge here, what is a fold flat floor?

The fold flat floor is standard on the Laramie. The rear seat is lifted and there are two folding steel floors that cover the rear floor area. This gives you a flat floor to put cargo on. Each section of the rear seat has a separate floor. It is a nice feature. There are storage compartments under the seat as well.

boonsur I just orered a 03 2500 slt with leather and the flat folding floor is standard also in leather pkg. you need to settle down. also sounds like you are dealing with a very inexperenced salesman. but knowing all of the options that are avaiable for every different package is very difficult. I've been sellin dodges for nine years and I still have a hard time remembering every thing. Hope this puts you at ease and you do not have to cancel your order. Greg:p

Further Questions

Thanks huge for the replies.

I really don't believe the fold-flat comes standard with the leather package anymore. Most of the options lists I had seen (even recently) do include it, but the Dodge ordering program we used, clearly did not (even took the salesman a few minutes to convince me in the beginning). Pehaps it's a late change and/or only included with the Larime seats - I'm getting an SLT (should probably update my signature).

Regardless, I talked to my salesman, and he again assured me they would definitely provide one. Hopefully, I made it clear enough, that I will not buy the truck without it (pretty sad when a piddly, $80 option could cause so much trouble/stress). But, if they keep their word, and this is the only snag, then I'll probably call it good. BTW, I'm still really hoping that it arrives with the floor in-place, and the program was just a fluke. I will definitely post it either way, so other people can know for sure.

I was worried maybe the rear seat was different if it had the floor option. He showed me one that did not and I was happy to see that the room is all there, without any modifications (big gap between seat & floor). Looks like it's simply a matter of removing 4 bolts, inserting the brackets and re-applying the bolts.

I do wonder though, what are these bolts threaded to? They are right above a "blind" area in the body (I could not feel the back side). Is there a tapped plate, or a welded nut, etc. ? I'd hate to loosen one, and hear a loose nut fall down, where it could never be retreived. Anybody installed or removed one, or pulled these bolts for another reason (remove seat for soundproofing, etc. )?
