Fuel Line question

My shift partner and friend has a 01 Chevy Duramax 4X4 that is having power issues. I wanted to know of any web sites that are geared toward the Chevys like the TDR is for us.

He has had trouble with the truck making power not revving over 2000 RPM and running over 65 on the Interstate. He said it doesn't do it all the time but mostly after 30+ miles. He has changed the fuel and air filter several times. It does pop up the service engine light but he pulled up no codes with his SuperChip Programmer. No overheating, Allison is not in limp mode but he doesn't know his fuel pressure.

He has ten more days of warranty so in the shop it goes but as we all know "we are our own Warranty Repair Shop".

Jeeze I thought that was normal for a Duramax. You must have gave him a ride in your truck so now hes finding out what a turd he owns. Hope you can help him figure it out or at least help him find a decent Dodge Cummins to trade it in on. Chris

Thanks Jong, He is on the other shop computer joining the site now.

Yep, I can't say I havent had problems with mine. But like you said, there is nothing like a CUMMINS and now looking at the 800+ HP numbers the 3rds are putting out well I just might have to look at getting a new one. Just for fun, Yeah Right.

True friends

My shift partner and friend has a 01 Chevy Duramax 4X4 .

If you were a true friend you would help him light the match then show him to the nearest Dodge :-laf dealership.

Remember; friends don`t let friends own duraless or flower power.

Thanks for the help everyone, Chevy putdowns and all. Gotta give it to the Chevy guys when it comes time to get warranty work done they seem to have a lot less BS to go through.

David got his truck back in two days. They changed all the injectors, fuel and oil filter, and had it cleaned ready to go. He drove it all day yesterday and said it had more power and better mileage (trip computer) then before.

I don't think I ever had that good of luck with any Dodge Dealer. My favorite one was my rear hoghead seal that was leaking on the Dana 70. They changed the seal and had to torque the pinion nut down per the spec in the book. It was around 100 Ft/Lbs to high. Crack! Three pinion bearings and four weeks later I got it back. DUH HUH!

Have a nice day. I'll be doing the brakes on my baby today. New EGR Lines, fluid, shoes, pads, and CHEVY 3500 rear wheel cylinders.
