Need help...just installed a new Alpine 9815....

and it's not working. I hooked everything up as instructed, but does the factory POS powered speakers make this a non-straightforward install? Is that more than likely my problem? I know nobody can tell me for sure... just looking for suggestions. Thanks!

hook the amplifier wire from the radio(usually blue) to the antenna wire on the truck(ithink it's yellow on the adapter harness)... the factory radio uses the antenna wire to power on the amped speakers.



aftermarket radios often power down the antenna lead when the cd or tape is used

That would make sense. One thing though, I don't get any sound out of the Tuner either. Still sound like the problem is what you described?

Most folks don't hook up the power antenna lead beacause trucks don't have them.

Do you have the infinity stereo system in your truck?

Yes, but I swapped the head unit out for a sony w/changer.

I just installed an Alpine 9813 and had the same problem until I hooked up the blue wire. No sound at all after the antenna wire was conected it worked great

Finally got everything to work, except my XM. I'm getting text, and the service is working (this is my 2nd account with XM), but no sound. Any suggestions?
