So last week I replaced the clutch in my 2001 Dodge ram 3500 with a 6 speed nv5600. Clutch wouldnt disengage so I made a longer slave cylinder push rod. Start the truck up and check engine light is on all of the sudden. Checked codes on my programmer (p1693, p2037, p2030). The problem is the truck wont go over like 35mph and wont rev up hardly at all. Also it is not spooling any boost at all. Couldn't get it over 1psi. I do not have a fuel pressure gauge so do not know if that is functioning properly. Fass 150, and a edge programmer.. other than that its stock. Thanks in advance

Try pulling the codes via the odometer readout by cycling the ignition switch 3 times on and off, leaving it on the 3rd time. Watch what codes are shown in the odometer. The P2037 and P2030 codes I think are in error.

P2030 Fuel Fired Heater Perf

P2037 Reductant Inj Air Press Sens Circ

I cycled key and the only code was p1693, which has always been there I believe but the engine MIL was not on until the problems occurred

Have you tried removing the Edge programmer to see if the engine performs normally? I think I would try deleting any DTC codes and disconnecting the battery leads from both batteries and let the system set for hour. Probably don't need that much time but just to ensure all system voltage has gone to 0. Reconnect and observe what happens. Are BOTH vehicle batteries in a good state of charge and condition?

Tony,

The longer slave cylinder pushrod will not increase the distance that the clutch release bearing moves. If the pedal feel mushy at the top, not very responsive then start thinking that it is a trapped air bubble. This can be dealt with.

The amount of fluid displaced by the master cylinder and then the area of the slave cylinder piston determine slave cylinder pushrod travel.

The clutch would not disengage with the factory slave push rod. The bolt was a trick my trans teacher told me about and it was crazy enough to work. But brand new sealed, prebled system so air in the system should not be an issue

Does your boost rely on engine vacuum? If so, you may have a vacuum leak. I have a 98.5 and my gauge relies on vacuum. The hose to my gauge had come loose in the A pillar and it took me some time to track it down.

Tony,

Beg to differ, your trans teachers advice is incorrect. Period.

Good luck,

Gary

I would listen to Gary. Clutches are kind of his spess-E-allity...........

He IS Perfection Clutch.

No boost tells you that you have one or more of these three issues:

(A) No fuel
(B) Bad turbo
(C) Massive charged air leak

I would follow Chief's advice first, clear codes and go back to stock. The "No Fuel" situation could be a bad sensor, bad connection, SOMETHING causing your ECM to tell your injector pump not to fuel. I would check your cam sensor and connector, MAP sensor and connector, and your injection pump connections. All good? Pull your air filter tube and check the turbo. Does it turn freely? Any scraping noises? Check all your charge air boots, make sure one hasn't come off.

You lost me on that one. The only vacuum on your 98.5 comes from your vacuum pump and has nothing to do with boost. I think you may be referring to your boost gauge tubing, probably connected to the intake, then the gauge. It measures and works off of "boost" or pressurized (charged) air from your turbo that is present in your intake manifold.

no...........

Dtcs are not present when I cycle key three times but are on my programmer. Check engine light is on. I have tried returning to stock and didn't work. Checked charge air cooler boots and all intact, turbo spins freely. Tonight I am going to try a pinpoint test for the fuel system, also got a low pressure side fuel gauge.
