Just got my hog exhaust system and was watching the dvd on the install and although it is pretty straight forward and simple job there is always a problem.

towards the rear for the tailpipe the show a set of hangers very close to the spare tire. I dont have these on my 1995 ctd. My rear tailpipe hanger is on the last bend of the tailpipe just before the tip. on the factory system this is.

how the hell am i going to attach this??????????

anybody ever run into this??????

Please help as the entire exhaust is off the truck and in many pieces due to the rust.

If i cant fix this quickly it will be open turbo time for me

If I undestand you correctly it sounds like you need to move one hanger to the rear.

Can you cut one hanger off, or salvage one from the old exhuast? Then weld it to an exhuast clamp and clamp it where you need it.

i am not welding nothing. for 600. 00$$ this was supposed to be 100% bolt-on. I just got off the phone with these schmucks and they told me they had no idea what i was talking about. I told them to take their exhaust and pound it up their a$$. I said for a new company trying to break into a flooded industry you people are not starting off on the correct foot.

LOL. That's the other option.

I forget what it's like down in the world. Up here I end up paying shipping two ways:mad: if I can't make something work.

On mine i ordered the rear hanger off a 98 bolted it on ond put the hanger were it needs to be. my brother works for a dealer so i don't know the real price but it cost me 6 dallars

Well, a quick fix

Where the problem hanger is, put the rubber figuer 8 on where it should go, put a 1/4" bolt through where the hanger is SUPPOSE to go, go to Home Depot and get some perforated strapping, attach the perf strapping to the bolt you put through the lower end of the rubber donut, wrap it under the pipe, that will work till you get it straightened out.

Do what you have to do with whom ever,

Get the right hanger where it is suppose to be

Take the bolt, perf strap off, put right hanger on

ps I got mine from RIP, fit perfectly, that's who I would call to get it right!

I put a Hog system on my 99 and all of the hangers were built on to clamps that could be attached to the pipe wherever they were needed. With just the recommended hangers for my 99 the tailpipe was way too loose and would have bounced up and hit the bottom of the bedside. Fortunately, there was an extra hanger in the box that I was able to add and sturdy up the system. Are the hangers pre-welded to your new system?

I had the same problem installing the Banks on my '94. In '98 they changed the rear hanger. Install the '98+ rear hanger and it'll work.

The banks front hanger didn't line up on mine either but I figured that might be due to the HX-40 downpipe. I used the sheetmetal type exhaust pipe clamps and it's stiff so it stays as is. If I used u-bolt style exhaust clamps it might be a problem.
