My cruise has not worked since getting this truck. The green light comes on but I cannot set/ resume. I confirmed the vacuum line and bellows in the unit hold as I unplugged the hose from the "T" on the firewall and sucked in it. It has no leaks. I also confirmed there was vacuum to the "T". Any ideas what to check next that would keep it from engaging?

It may have oil in the servo. There is a extended warranty on the 96 for 7 years and unlimited mileage on the vacum system due to a faulty seal on the vacum pump letting oil into the vacum system. This will trash the AC controls and switches and door motors and the cruise servo. The recall is #720 I believe.
