My buddy has a 02 HO six speed and needs to have a jacobs E-brake installed. I called cummins and they said it would cost 700. 00. This seems alful high to me as my 12 valve had to have springs installed also and it was less than that five years ago when they were really high. Are they hard to install at home, any special tools? Thanks Richard:--)

I would have a look at the instructions first, but I don't think it should be that hard to do. I did mine and the only hard part was the HD valve springs. The brake itself is simple. You are just swapping exhaust elbows (on the rear of the turbo) then making a few connections. I would recomend a master switch mounted on the shifter and skip the pedal sensor switch.

On the 02 you will have to swap out the back cover of the turbo, mount the solenoid on the firewall, run the vacuum plumbing, cut a hole for the switch (not round),Run the wiring in engine compartment and inside the cab. The trigger is through the ECM. No fancy tools needed just take your time and follow the instructions.

Yea Bob i agree, it can't be that big of a deal. I saw two guys garage install one on a 03 the other day and it had to have a vacuum pump installed but no big deal either. I think i will do it for him. Thanks RichardOo.
