2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission need help on headlights

I had a problem with the headlights, not coming on then would work the dimmer switch a couple times and then they would work ok. I read some treads about this problem and it all sounded like the light switch, was being over loaded. I purchased the heavy-duty headlight harness from LMC mine being the sport truck I need both high and low beam harness now if the lights don't come on I need to hit the dimmer they then come on but I don't have both high and low beams. I have tapped on the relay which came with the harness and then both beams will come on but can't go back to low beam without turning off the lights and then turning them back on but then can't go to high beams unless I tap on the relay. I am lost as to where to begain, bad relay, bad switch, or both. Help

Did you change the switch? If the switch was bad changing the harness would not help

I will give it a try, if the local parts store has one if not will need to locate a dodge dealer as we don't have one here anymore. Thanks
