I have a 95 longbed 2500. My ABS and Brake lights will not go off. I took to dealer and they replace rear wheel speed sensor ($188) but this did not correct the problem. I don't feel they know what the real problem is. Can anyone tell what to look for?

Thanks

JJ

had that problem, check the wire harness that runs along the LH side. watch for chafed thru where the harness goes from outside the frame to the rear axle sensor. that is where my problem was. hope this helps.

I will take a look at the wire harness and thanks for the info.

Check to see that your e-brake pedal isnt binding up and sticking a little short of fully up. When I got my truck it had this problem, a little graphite grease and no more issues. Also check your brake light switch, directly attached to the brake pedal. If the switch isnt making good contact, the light will stay on too. . Checking as many wiring points and connectors as you can helps too, as fourbarr suggested...

I had that same problem on my 95,also the cruise was out. I was told the sensor was bad,but before I got around to getting another one I decided to check for a vacuum leak, trying to fix my cruise. Found the vacuum line under the battery broken. I replaced that and not only fixed the cruise, but the lights went out. Just something else you might check. Hope this helps.

Could also be bad connections at ABS controller or a bad controller. Could also be a power problem fuse etc. to controller. You really need a service manual with wiring diagrams when troubleshooting this section.
