Too much trailer for a 2500?

camper parts, help

I have a 24x6x6 Gooseneck stock trailer (built in 84). Its rusty and a little beat up. And it has no brakes. All the wiring and the floor is brand new (installed by me). What do you think it's worth?. I live in Southern California.

Thanks in Advance

Put it in Pay-It-Forward, Ill take it :-laf

thats a good sized trailer... 800-1200? thats just a guess, Its one of those things you need to see to figure.

California is a different critter... take a reasonable price and double it ;)

no brakes on a 24' (seems like a lot of weight for no brakes) might require a little price drop. This is a dealership in Nebraska that has a lot of used trailers, but they are in NE, so the price here in CA is a little higher. http://www.midplainsonline.com/inventory.htm

The brand and how beat up it is will definately change the price. I am actually in the market for a 20-32' stock trailer but need it to be atleast 6'6" tall...

hope that link helps some

also there is http://www.horsetrailerworld.com they rarely have anything near CA, but I just search the entire US for pricing...

It is illegal to sell any trailer with a GVWR over 3K without brakes. The older trailers would only put brakes on one axle, you may get away with that, but all the newer ones are putting brakes on all axles. I don't think you could even get away with a disclaimer. Just letting you know. John

i was looking for any DMV info on that, all I could find was over 1500# required brakes. But that was for travel/camping trailers, not sure if that applies or not. Guess it could be a difficulty.
