I Have A Aqueak Coming From The Rear Area Of My 2001 Ram 2500 Diesel. I Have Replace The U-joints, The Squeak Sounds Like A Dried Out U-joint. The Squeak Seems To Be Coming From The Area Where The Drive Shaft Connects To The Rear End. I Mainly Hear It At 3-7 Mph When Coasting, But It Squeaks In First And Second Also. I Can Also Push The Truck When It Is Shut Down And Hear A Squeak. I Never Hear The Squeak Until I Have Been Driving Several Milles, Like It Has To Warm Up. It Also Does Not Squeak Long When Coasting Until It Quits, Like It Has Cooled Back Down. Also, If I Put My Brakes On It Seems To Quit Also. The Brakes Are Fairly New, Less Than A Month Old.

Could The Pinion Seal Be Squeaking?

Any Other Ideas, I Am Getting Ready To Leave On A Long Trip And Would Like To Resolve This Problem Before Leaving.

Thanks For Any Help

Could be a u-joint or a carrier bearing, if your truck has one. Never heard a seal squeak, so I doubt that is a possiblity.

Age doesn't really matter, for the brakes to squeak. Does the truck shake at all, while stopping? Could be a warped rotor.
