Before anybody responds with GET A MANUAL!! , know that I ordered one but have not got it yet. In the mean time, I am hooking up an auxillary fuse panel for accessories. I need to know which wire coming out of the column powers the back-up lights. I am installing a backup alarm and wish to use this lead to power the switch so it can only be on in reverse (with the switch on). I am running everything through relays, so the extra draw shouldn't be a problem. Anybody know where to tap? I tried the obvious, at the fuse panel, but it must be switched somewhere else because its constant hot there as long as its in the "on" position.

Thanks-

Kev

Wire color codes

The Back-up lamp switch is located on the tranmission. It's feed wire is Brown w/light green tracer which is switched by the key. The circut is protected by a 10 amp fuse located in the panel just inside the driver's side door, position #7.

On the lamp side of the switch the wire is violet w/black tracer. Which goes to the trailer plug and lamps at the rear of the truck.

Yes, I did get the manual out!:D

Gonna' be easier to tap into the B/U light system at the left rear. I've even got my relay back there. Iuse the B/U light wire to trigger the relay and a power wire (12 ga. ) fused in the engine compt. for the power. I also use this wire to power bed lights.
