To all,
I have a 98. 5 ISB CC auto with 73k on it. I tow almost daily.
One of my front brake caliper pistons is haging up. I did the brakes pads and cleaned and lubed pins. They all seem OK, but I need to remove the left and right front piston, I know that it is sticking.
Would someone please email me the proceedure for removing the piston, I've done plenty of brake overhauls, except I cannot seem to remember the details regarding the removal and re-installation of the pistons.
Please use my email link from the top of this listing as I will be only able to get email for the next week while on the road.

Thanks,
DC Miller

Use an air nozzle with a rubber tip. Set the caliper on a bench and stick the air hose in the brake line hole. Put a heavy rag over the piston and let fly with the air keeping your face out of harms way #ad

Follow Dane's instructions but I would like to add - Keep your fingers out of the way and you might want to wear some kind of face/nose/eye mask - Inhaling brake fluid and asbestos/lining material is not good for you.

Does Dodge still use them plastic pistons that swell up with heat and moisture?

I would place a piece of wood between the piston & where it will hit the calipar. Keeps from damaging the piston and they don't fly as far.

Thanks to all you that have posted and or emailed me with help. Since I am on the road full-time, a compressor is a little too much to carry with us. I will try the brake pedal routine.
Anyone know a good/inexpensive source for new calipers??
Email me if you can. I am on the road and don't often have net access.
