I posted a couple of weeks back (on DTR) regarding my campaign pump taking a dive after 1K. I replaced it with another pump I knew was good. Well, this afternoon I took a run to the hardware store and noticed my fuel pressure, that was 13psi when I left, was now 8psi. This is the same symptom I saw with the other pump. I'm now convinced it's something other than the pump ... any ideas?

Something else that's odd is the fuel pressure increases when I brake.

I'm leaning towards the fuel pickup. Bummer is I just filled up!

Exactly. . As a suggestion, I would make a 1/2" pickup tube that has only smooth bends coming out the top of the tank feeding directly to your lift pump (which needs to be as close as possible to the tank). After micky-mousing around, trying everything other than that, am finally convinced a sweet & simple 1/2" fuel supply from bottom of tank to VP-44 is the only way to go for longevity. 1/2" minimum, period.

The VP needs to be able to lift fuel from the tank on its own, for the times when the lift pump is hiccuping. . Anything extra in between that adds restriction is an enemy to our injector pumps.

My only concern with the bottom feed is its placement, so there is not an issue when the tank is low. I'd hate to suck air into my new VP.
