I just installed some new autometer gauges (boost & egt) and only want the gauge lights to work when my interior lights are on. Is there an easy way to tie into the power lead for the interior lights/dimmer switch? I haven't purchased a service manual yet. Thanks!
Unbolt the headlight switch. Behind there should be a tan wire {correct me if i'm wrong guys !}. I just tied into that one which allows the gauges to be dimmed just like the dash lights.
Tan wire is it test it to be for sure just tap in to it but don't cut it, same goes with the power wire for the transmission temp, cig lighter power is good cause it only works with the key on.
Dito on tan wire and cig liter wire for transmission . You don't have manual yet so word of caution disconnect both battry leads neg post . while working on electrical connections of guages saves air bag in face or blown fuse . Ron in Louisville KY
