Recently I posted about my gears becoming notchey 2nd to 3rd and 4th and lite grinding if shifted fast. I have pulled the trans and took the cover off all the gears look good some wear on on the syncros but not enough to cause the drag when shifting. The cover parts looked good no excessive wear. There seems to be a lot of up and down motion in the input shaft moving it where the polit bearing rides. when you move it up and down or side to side. Wear on the bearings on the shaft could this be the problem? Letting it get out of line. The pilot bearing was ok normal wear. The input shaft point looked good. The clutch had was wore but when it is released it would not matter. I checked the slave cylinder twice with someone holding it down it never moved. then before I pulled the trans I used a strut and held it down for 15 mins it never moved back. Anyone got any suggestions its got me stumped.

You say it never moved back but is it going far enough to release the clutch I had one yesterday that was doing the same thing and the flywheel was crowned where the lining was and caused it to drag.

Over the last few months I have checked the clutch several times and different ways even jacking it up and holding the pedal down no movement from the rear. My flywheel still looks good but I will check it with a stright edge across it tomorrow. I talk to a guy here today and he said it sounded like the blocker gears on the syncro. They were hammered a little but still looked good.

Thanks
