Hey all,

code p0253 keeps coming up. Just had injection pump replaced in June, lift pump went out 3 times since. Put on Fass fuel system and 12 psi constant.

No other mods on fuel system. Searched forums and found nothing for a basically stock truck. This code never came up untill it got cold out, truck usually sits about 1 week at a time. Tried clearing code but come back after only a 1/2 mile of driving. Any suggestions would be great or should I ship the truck back to the stealership and put stock fuel system back on.

p0253 fuel pump fuel valve open circuit. 3 lp in that time is unusual. i have had on 3 in the last 338000kms. could it be the screen in the tank is plugged? maybe alge in the tank.

One thing I did for get to check was fuel presure. Guage on dash says 12, manual guage confirms this. Check fuel flow, a story in itself . Not to self have freind hold container when doing this. Anyway off story fills quart container in less than 10 sec +- not sure exact time but fass is indeed putting out enough fuel. Will hose garage walls very nice. :--)

Also checked ground's of what I could find, not sure I'f I got them all. Battery load test ok, altenator putting out 13. 9v at 100amps. What else am I missing?

Well just let everyone know, p0253 is another sign I guess of a dying vp.

Dealership put another vp on the truck today. Hmmmm 3 lift pumps over the summer and 2 vp's, just glad I didn't have to put out the dough for the last vp. On a brighter note, Winona Chrysler here in MN. will be getting a A+ from me. Outstanding group of people, did everything they could to make sure truck was right. Even brought ecm up to date and straighten out another dealers mess on the Ecm 0$ to me.
